After Klogg overthrew Hoborg, he cracked the Neverhood into two parts and put a chain and a pin to hold down the Castle from the rest of the world.
Pulling out the pin[]

After Klaymen arrives to the island where the pin is located, he has to pull it out. After some struggling, the pin is pulled out and the halves of the Neverhood slowly drift back together, enabling Klaymen to go to the Whale's Mouth by teleport machine and unblocking one of the red car grooves.
However, Klogg is watching Klaymen pulling the pin out. He finds out that Klaymen is threatening his plans, and starts keeping an eye on him.
