The Cannon is part of a Puzzle in The Neverhood,

It is located next to the bridge control room and situated above the Lake Floor. The cannon, considered the Neverhood’s only line of defense, is paradoxically used for play. On top of the cannon, there is a small KlayBird that squawks loudly when the cannon is fired. Underneath, there is a plaque accessible with the green car, which reads, "The Cannon Monument – This cannon was put here by Hoborg Klogg".

Operating the cannon[]

Cannon controls

The cannon is fired with a big red button on the panel.

It can also be lifted from the ground and rotated left or right. To enable movement controls, two codes, each consisting of three symbols, must be entered. Upon entering the correct symbols, two axes appear on the target viewer, then clicking the arrows allows the cannon to be moved. Normally, rotating it towards the right is impossible unless it is lifted from the ground. However, Klogg can achieve this using his remote control when firing at Bil (and later at himself).

Show Solution

  • The symbols for moving up/down can be found in the basement room behind the spikes in the Hall of Records when visited with the lights turned off.
  • The symbols for moving left/right are displayed in the Hammerboy's Cavern.

Uses[]

Klaymen must use the cannon to:

After Bil finishes off the Clockwork Beast, Klogg protects himself from the intruders by shooting Bil in his chest. In the Good Ending, Klogg accidentally steps on the remote control and shoots himself off the Neverhood.
